Phishing scammers are at it again!
Waiting for a tax refund? Don't open any emails that say it's from the IRS and that your check has arrived or you would have been bitten by this Phishing scam. The IRS has a page devoted to warning the public about potential scams. They point out that "The IRS does not send unsolicited e-mail about tax account matters to individual, business, tax-exempt or other taxpayers." If you're wondering where your refund is, go directly to www.irs.gov and check the "Where's My Refund?" If you haven't even started your return and need forms, go to Tax Forms: Federal Wisconsin or visit the WPL library, The library has tax forms available for free. All of the forms are located in the display racks near the information desk.
